Artist's Description
This is the H-D "gun sight" logo that was used in 1961 & '62. The original drawing was in scratchboard and I created it specifically for The Pink Llama Gallery in Cedarburg, WI. Tammie Strause, the PLG owner, put out a call for motorcycle art for the gallery to tie in with the annual H-D Anniversary Celebration in nearby Milwaukee. I figured, what the heck, I'd give it a try. I had a lot of fun with this and it was good to step out of my typical realm.
Thanks to Sandy O'Bleness for providing the reference photo and to her husband Mike for suggesting that the drawing should have a flag and/or eagle in it. I opted for the flag.
The original is available for $325. It's mounted to an archival board that I painted black & distressed, framed to 8" x 10" in a black wood frame.
